2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 price and specs

Genesis has priced the last of its trio of electric vehicles that’s arriving in local showrooms during September.

The Electrified GV70 slots in as the flagship of the GV70 range, offered in one fully loaded specification called the Performance AWD for $127,800 before on-road costs.

It shares its 360kW/700Nm dual-motor powertrain with the Performance AWD variant of the GV60, another member of the brand’s new electric trio that also includes the Electrified G80. Only the GV60 uses a dedicated electric vehicle architecture.

The Electrified GV70 slots in above the GV60 Performance AWD ($110,700 before on-road costs) and battles the base Audi e-tron 50 Quattro ($138,323 before on-roads), base Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 ($122,724 list) and the rear-wheel drive BMW iX3 ($114,900 list).

The most expensive combustion-powered GV70 – the 3.5T Sport – currently costs $89,067 before on-roads when equipped with the Luxury Package.

While it’s specified similarly to GV70 models with the Luxury Package, there are some key differences.

It’s distinguished externally by unique 20-inch alloy wheels and front and rear bumpers, plus a unique grille that hides the charging port.

There’s no limited-slip differential like the GV70 3.5T, but the Electrified GV70 retains the Preview Electronic Control Suspension that uses a front camera to scan the road ahead and adjust the suspension accordingly.

You can power small appliances from the battery with the exterior and interior vehicle-to-load (V2L) 3.6kW power supply, while there’s also a one-pedal driving mode and regenerative braking that also uses real-time navigation and traffic data.

Other differences from the combustion-powered GV70 include active noise control for blotting out road noise, a sensor-based rear occupant warning, and a heat pump system for the climate control.

The interior also features unique graphics for the backlit door trim and unique interior finishes, while the three-spoke sport steering wheel has a Boost button.

Genesis says rear-seat space is comparable to the combustion-powered GV70, even with the batteries sitting underfloor.

As with other Genesis EVs, included in the purchase price is a choice of either a five-year Chargefox subscription or a home AC charger (including installation).
