Man arrested in NH after allegedly stealing car with woman, infant still in it – Boston News, Weather, Sports

HAMPTON, N.H. (WHDH) – A man is facing several felony charges after he stole a vehicle that still had an adult and infant child inside of it, according to police in New Hampshire.

Police in Hampton, New Hampshire said David Tayes, 46, allegedly stole a vehicle in the area of Hampton Beach State Park just before noon on Friday. Officers originally responded after two 911 calls came in, claiming a car was stolen with two people inside it.

Officials believe Tayes, a resident of Baldwin, Maine, proceeded to drive over a bridge into Seabrook at a high rate of speed that was considered fast enough to endanger the public.

During the drive, the adult victim was able to place the car in park while it was stopped a streetlight. Police said the woman told Tayes she was calling 911, prompting him to flee the car, only to be caught by Seabrook Police a short time later.

Tayes was later booked by Hampton Police on four felony charges, alleging two counts of Kidnapping, one count of Reckless Conduct, and one count of Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
